History (Time-Scale of Events)

May 1st1980
National President of BJP Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee appointed Dr. Kamla Verma as first State President of BJP in a conference held at Rohtak.
Ch. Suraj Bhan won Ambala Parliamentary seat.
December 1982
In  State Council Meeting at Narwana Shri Suraj Bhan was elected as State President.
BJP won 6 Assembly seats.
November 1986
Dr. Mangal Sain elected as State President in Rohtak .
Year 1987
BJP won 17 Assembly seats in Haryana.
December 1990
After the sudden death of Dr. Mangal Sain, Shri Ram Bilas Sharma was appointed as State President by the National President.
October 1992
In State Council Meeting Shri Ram Bilas Sharma was elected as State President.
March 1993
Shri Ramesh Joshi was appointed as State President by the National President.
November 1995
In State Council Meeting held in Panipat Shri Ramesh Joshi was elected as State President.
Year 1996
BJP won 11 Assembly and 4 Parliamentary seats (Ambala, Karnal, Faridabad, Mahindergarh).BJP entered in the State Collision Govt. headed by Shri. Bansi Lal of HVP 
Year 1997
In Chandigarh Shri Om Parkash Grover was elected as State President.
Year 1998
BJP won Faridabad Parliamentary seat.
Year 1999
BJP broke up ties with HVP and made an alliance with INLD of Shri Om Parkash Chotala, but did not share the State Govt. headed by him. BJP won 5 Parliamentary seats (Ambala, Karnal, Faridabad, Mahindergarh, Sonipat).
June 22nd 2000
Shri Ratan Lal Kataria was elected as State President.
Year 2001
BJP won 6 Assembly seats in the State elections and again declined the offer of joining the State Govt..
